Mark Southwick

Mark Jeffrey Southwick , 48, Lincoln, passed away Sunday (7/10/05), in Hastings. Mark was born to Clyde "Big Clyde" and Grace (Mayden) Southwick in Sutherland and moved with his family to Lincoln in 1958. Mark and his wife Julie owned and operated A 1st Rate Pumping Service Inc. in Lincoln. Mark was actively involved with the Lincoln Chapter of the M.A.D. Dad's Program. He was also active in many neighborhood associations. In the early 1980s, Mark was a brick tender at Scribner Construction. He also worked for Friesen Excavating, and alongside his father at Big Clyde Sanitation.

Mark is survived by: Julie, his wife of 26 years, son, Jarred, and daughter, Katie, all of Lincoln; his brothers, sisters-in-law, Brad and Jackie, Hickman, Bruce and Lotus, Bennet, Guy and Holly, Jim and Helen Burch, all of Lincoln, Gary Burch, Seward, Linda and Jim Shepard, California. Other survivors include: parents-in-law, Lester and Wilma Alber; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, Ron and Shelly Alber, South Carolina, Marcia, Mary, Ken and Julie Alber, all of Lincoln; special cousins, Dale and Margaret "Maggie Ream," Omaha, Phillip and Bessie Woodard, Gladstone, Mo. Mark has several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Donna Burch; brother, Douglas Southwick ; mother-in-law, Joan Alber.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Rosemont Alliance Church 2600 N. 70th St. Private inurnment, Lincoln Memorial Park, 6700 S. 14th St. Visitation: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St.; one hour prior to services, church. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, to the family and a memorial will be established at a later date in Mark 's name. The family requests casual attire.
