Apr 20, 1956  -  Nov 18, 2020

Julie Ann Knopp (Mohr), age 64, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the Kansas City Hospice House. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Randy Mohr, her two sons; Garrett and Aaron Mohr, her daughter-in-law Kelly, and two grandchildren, Harrison and Lola all of Smithville, Missouri. Her sister Kristie Knopp (Tang) and her brother Paul Knopp of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Julie was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Lee Knopp and Maylene Bellairs (Knopp), and attended Northeast High School, where she lettered in gymnastics. Soon after high school, Julie joined the Air Force, and after basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, was stationed at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

After the Air Force, she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. Julie loved drawing and painting, but most of all making jewelry in her studio in downtown Lincoln.

Julie was a great wife, mother, cook, and grandmother. She was Facebook before its invention, and could go into a room full of strangers and come out knowing their stories and have made new friends, which there was never a shortage of. Her home was always welcome to friends and family, with lots of food, drink, and laughter. Julie will be deeply missed.

Special thanks to the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care team for taking such good care of Julie.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Mohr family or the Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care at https://www.kchospice.org/donation/.

Services and celebration of life will be at a later time.
